Aluminium car park screening panels, designed as a wall of horizontal projecting pyramids, were intended to be anodised to create changing patterns of light and shadow. The cost of high grade aluminium for anodising proved prohibitively high. Two existing supply chain partners approached Powdertech with a request to find powder coating shades that would produce the same visual effect. The solution was four variations of silver shades for the different pyramid faces, creating an effect similar to the light reflection of anodising. Over 1000 triangular panels were coated with an overall cost almost 75% less than an anodised system.
