The CAB 1-day Curtain Walling Essential Knowledge Course, which has been accredited by the GQA Qualifications is an introduction to curtain walling and is intended either as a revision for experienced curtain wall installers or for individuals who have little or no knowledge of the fundamentals of this type of glazed construction.
It aims to ensure that Installers have the required knowledge to undertake systems specific training and ultimately reduce snagging’s on site and the associated costs involved with this. The topics covered include; handling and storage of materials; principles of weathertightness; surveying and setting out; tolerances and reading drawings and specifications.
The 1-day course is one of the mandatory modules leading to the award of a CAB branded CSCS Q-card for curtain walling installers. An introduction to the course and its content can be found below:-
The cost to attend is £249 + VAT but CAB members will qualify for a discounted rate of £199 + VAT.
Applications to attend the course will be managed by CAB and candidates can apply by completing the enrolment form which can be found below. Completed application forms should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
CAB will then liaise with candidates to book a convenient course date and the training will be carried out by a GQA Approved Training Provider.
Training Providers will offer guidance to candidates to apply for a trainee card, temporary card or renewal card and further information regarding the criteria for the CSCS Q-card for curtain walling installers can be found at here

The course material can also be provided free of charge to CAB members to use as a valuable in-house training tool to teach the basics of curtain wall systems to staff and new employees.
