The Council for Aluminium in Building welcomes Mormet Aluminium into membership. Based in Tamworth and incorporated in 1988, Mormet are major processors and recyclers of pre-consumer and post-consumer alloys of aluminium and other non ferrous metals, trading in both the UK and internationally.
The company has joined CAB specifically to take part in CAB ‘Closed Loop Recycling Scheme’ which is now gaining traction across the construction fenestration supply chain. Cliff Smith, Director at Mormet Aluminium comments, “Sustainability is high on the agenda of Mormet Aluminium Limited, this is one of the important reasons we joined the CAB Closed Loop Scheme. This gives benefits to many of our Suppliers who are also members of the Scheme, together with satisfying the requirements of Hydro Extrusion UK, of which we are their top supplier in terms of Sustainability, Quality and suppliers of segregated guaranteed 6063 & 6082 Aluminium Extrusion Scrap.”
The scheme, now requested by several main contractors, is open to all CAB members to join and promote the benefits of recycling architectural extrusion keeping its unique properties. Not only does this help reduce carbon content but it can positively influence the value of scrap entering the scheme. More information about the scheme is available on the CAB website.
It is important to recognise that an Association belongs to its Members and the more influence that Members can bring into the Association, the further it will grow.
