CAB is pleased to confirm its support for Building Our Skills (BOS), the organisation providing support to help tackle the Fenestration Industry’s widening skills gap.
BOS was established two-years ago to promote activities which support industry employers or individuals in acknowledging the need to introduce new and young talent into the industry with the overall long-term aim of eliminating the Fenestration industry’s skills gap.
Stephanie Tague, Head of BOS comments, ‘It is fantastic news that CAB, one of the industry’s key trade bodies has pledged its support for Building Our Skills. With over 140 members, the organisation is a great platform for us to gain further traction and acknowledgment of the industry’s growing staff shortages.
‘With modern technologies in construction evolving rapidly, there is also a need to bring on board younger generations to provide skills and qualifications to address these needs too. BOS plan to work alongside CAB and its members in developing a programme of activities, helping to highlight the advantages of taking action now, and explore ways of engaging with youngsters and new people to choose a career in Fenestration.’ Stephanie continues.
Stephanie continues, ‘Proving to young people that there is career progression via qualifications is a key element in attracting them to our industry, so, with CAB’s foresight and acceptance in aiding us to share information to their members and encouraging them to also get involved, is a great result for us.’
