Business Forum – Contemporary Façade Design and Delivery

Our Forum, which is free to our members to attend, is entitled ‘Contemporary Façade Design and Delivery’ and takes place in the Millennium Suite, Principality Stadium, Westgate Street, Cardiff, CF10 1NS. The Forum will also include updates on CAB’s activities as well as topical business presentations from a renowned Cardiff architect, façade consultant, main contractor and housing specialist. Further information on our speakers will follow. The Forum will be concluded with a panel discussion and Q&A session.

The following are two of our confirmed speakers for the Forum:

Ffion Lanchbury of Rio Architects

Ffion joined Rio in 2014 as an Architect and eight years later became a member of the board of directors.

Within the studio, Ffion’s positive outlook and passion for delivering the best is infectious. Her personable and engaging demeanour is central to getting the best out of people, and she can effortlessly pull teams together to create outcomes that go beyond our client’s expectations. Passionate about delivering buildings which impact the way people live and interact with their surroundings, Ffion is committed to designing places that are deliverable and reflect the initial vision, requiring a detailed technical understanding at early project stages so that our designs are not only exemplary but also commercially viable and deliverable.

Andrew Baker of Rio Architects

A natural leader with extensive experience, Andrew has a substantial portfolio of satisfied clients and exemplar buildings spanning multiple sectors, design stages and project scales.

As a Director at Rio, Andrew is known for his work on education-based projects across primary, secondary, higher and further education, SEN and PMLD. His ethos is that good design can profoundly benefit the well-being of building users and enhance their educational experience.

Andrew actively champions Rio staff being office-based, fostering an environment that prioritises communication and collaboration and maximises the quality and efficiency of our service. This approach bolsters the friendly and inclusive nature of the practice.

Sitting on many of their internal project design review panels, he actively encourages junior team members to engage in discussions on design and delivery, firmly believing that a team approach is the cornerstone of our success.
