The Council for Aluminium in Building (CAB) has appointed Jan Lukaszewski as Technical Manager, further expanding its specialist knowledge of metal coatings, metallurgy and manufacturing.
Jan joins CAB as part of the transition of the Qualicoat secretariat to CAB from ALFED this month [November], which aligns the interest of both organisations more closely ,delivering new benefits to members.
Jan said: “I’m looking forward to bringing my experience in aluminium, metallurgy, manufacturing and processing to CAB.
“With many members already involved in both organisations, there is a real opportunity to share expertise and strengthen the support available to the aluminium sector.”
Jan began his career as a chain maker’s apprentice and holds a degree in metals technology. He spent more than two decades working as a metallurgist, with a focus on failure analysis and the mining industry, before moving into ultra-high-tensile steels and project management.
He has led the Qualicoat secretariat for more than a decade, alongside serving as Technical Manager, ALFED.
Nigel Headford, Chief Executive of CAB, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jan to CAB.
“His practical experience across metallurgy, manufacturing and corrosion protection will add valuable technical expertise to our team.
“The closer relationship with Qualicoat will also help us connect that specialist knowledge with the needs of CAB members and the wider aluminium-in-building sector.”
