The Council for Aluminium in Building will hold its 2025 Technical Conference – Building in the Future, at the University of Loughborough on 15th May.
With big regulatory changes starting already taking effect including rollout of the Budling Safety Act and PAS2030/PAS2035, plus a shift change in technology, the CAB Technical Conference is designed to keep, members ahead of the changes that will shape tomorrow’s construction industry.
“The construction supply chain is going through a period of unprecedented change from the new requirements placed on the complete supply chain post-Grenfell and through the Building Safety Act, through to new sustainability and energy efficiency targets under PAS2030, PAS2035 and the Future Homes Standard”, explained Nigel Headford, Chief Executive CAB.
He continued: “Our technical conference this year focusses on how those changes will shape the construction and building products supply chain in the future, what members need to do to adapt to stay on the right side of regulatory change, and how they can maximise the opportunities that those changes will deliver.”
Guest speakers at this years’ event will include an update on key regulatory change from CAB Technical Director Dale Pegler; an overview of aluminium recycling, urban mining and sustainability, from David Wetherall, Hydro Aluminium; and an overview of opportunities and requirements under PAS2030 and PAS2035 by SCCS’ Stephen Collings.
The technical conference will also highlight opportunities that IT software and innovation deliver to the construction and building products industries. This includes IQF software by Schueco’s Duncan Grover; Software updates from Dan Hodges and Simon Crilley-Caudell, Business Micros; Virtual Reality demonstrations by Azhar Nalakath Vadakekayil, V-Lab and Mario Ramic, Takeaway VR.
