A sleek finish was needed to adorn the visually striking kite cladding system. Interpon D2525 Brilliance, a bright metallic silver, provided a futuristic feel to the design.
The envelope was required to be simple to construct, economical and minimise light pollution to nearby adjacent residential buildings. Being both highly visible and situated on a gateway site to the city centre, the design and appearance was required to be of high aesthetic and architectural quality. In response, a deceptively simple cladding system was designed, comprising of a single aluminium panel type tessellated across the façade. This helped the 9 storey car park to be nominated for ‘Best New Car Park’ at the British Parking Awards 2019.
