Aluminium doors and windows from Senior Architectural Systems have been used to frame the views enjoyed by the residents of the new Berry Court private rental scheme in Bournemouth.
Collaboration has been an integral part of the creation of Berry Court; with the development itself delivered by Bournemouth Development Company, a joint venture between Bournemouth Borough Council and Morgan Sindall Investments Ltd. The contract to supply the fenestration package for Berry Court is also the latest to be delivered by Senior in partnership with long-term supply chain partners Soundcraft and main contractor Morgan Sindall, with whom Senior has an established trading agreement. The attractive façade design of the scheme, which pays homage to the Art Deco style that is evident in much of Bournemouth’s architectural heritage, has been enhanced through the specification of Senior’s attractive SPW600e aluminium tilt and turn windows. Also offering high thermal and weathering performance, the SPW600e window system provides a robust and low maintenance solution to meet the demands of the private rental sector.
The individual apartments also benefit from Senior’s energy-efficient PURe® SLIDE aluminium doors which incorporate a patented PUR thermal break to help achieve exceptionally low U-values to reduce both the heating costs and the overall carbon calculations of the scheme. Ideally suited for residential schemes, the innovative PURe® SLIDE aluminium door also offers excellent acoustic performance.
The attractive and highly durable aluminium sliding doors have been installed to provide access, natural ventilation and to maximise the sense of natural light and space. To ensure safety and as a bespoke design feature, Soundcraft also designed an attractive Juliet balcony system which was subject to stringent strength and load bearing tests by Senior prior to installation.
