British Motor Museum, Warwickshire

We are delighted to announce details of our Spring Forum at the British Motor Museum which will take place on Thursday 29th February 2024. The British Motor Museum is home to the world’s largest collection of historic British cars, with over 300 cars on display from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust and the Jaguar Heritage Trust. Business Forum – Speakers

Our Forum, which is free to our members to attend, takes place in the South Wing 5, British Motor Museum, Banbury Road, Gaydon, Warwickshire CV35 0BJ and will include updates on CAB’s activities as well as topical business presentations.

The following are our confirmed speakers for the Forum:

Neil “Razor” Ruddock – Neil is an English former professional footballer and television personality who is a club director at Anfield. As a player he was a central defender from 1986 to 2003 and was voted the 17th “hardest footballer of all time”.

Phil Sedge, Director – Head of Facades at Mace Group.  Phil has spent over 35 years working in facades, building prestigious projects across London working with the industry’s leading façade contractors.  Phil leads the way on innovations and industry drivers like productivity, quality and carbon initiatives and will share his views on these important topic’s and discuss project trends in London. 

Uday Patel is a Senior Research Manager, Global Aluminium Markets at Wood Mackenzie.  Uday has over 30 years of experience in the metals and mining sector and joined Wood Mackenzie in 2014 as a manager in the aluminium markets team.  During his career he has worked on a range of projects in the metals sector, including detailed market studies, cost analyses and strategic advisory work for clients including rolled producers, aluminium processing companies and financial organisations.  Uday will share his views on the current state of the aluminium market and was very well received when he spoke at our Leeds Autumn meeting in 2021.

Drinks Reception and Dinner

Following the Forum, our drinks reception and dinner will take place in the museum. 

The format for the afternoon/evening is as follows: –

3.30 pm                        Coaches depart Mercure Warwickshire Walton Hall Hotel & Spa, Wellesbourne

4.00 pm                        Registration, tea/coffee and exhibition in South Wing 5

5.00 pm                        Business Forum in South Wing 5 – Session 1

6.10 pm                        Refreshment break and exhibition

6.25 pm                        Business Forum in South Wing 5 – Session 2

7.15 pm                        Drinks Reception in Museum

8.00 pm                        Dinner amongst the cars in the Museum

10.30/11.00 pm            Depart British Motor Museum

Dinner is charged at £180 + VAT (£36) per person = £216 – Tables of 10 are discounted at £1,700 + VAT (£340) = £2,040

Accommodation

An allocation of rooms has been reserved at our main hotel, the Mercure Warwickshire Walton Hall Hotel & Spa, Walton, Wellesbourne, Warwick CV35 9HG at a B & B rate of £99.00 including VAT. The hotel (with on-site parking) is approximately a 15-minute drive from the British Motor Museum. Early booking is strongly recommended as we are unable to guarantee our allocation beyond 18th January 2024. Please be aware that the cancellation policy is 6 weeks prior to arrival.

Early booking is strongly recommended to secure accommodation at the main Hotel. Members remain free to arrange their own hotel accommodation if they so wish. We are not able to guarantee that rates negotiated are the lowest available at all times.
