The University of Bedfordshire has invested 40 million pounds in this new STEM building at its Central Luton campus. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects, however Pharmaceutical and Chemical Science, Nutrition, Biochemistry, and Mechanical Engineering are also taught there.
The project was a very big challenge to our design teams as the specification from MCW architects was predominately regency gold anodised . This spec calls for a special grade of aluminium and the finish means that we must leave welds as laid. Consequently, we had to consider different methods of fabrication to resolve with stunning results
