This unfolding structure is the focal point of the Woolbeding Gardens, showing how much the ancient Silk Road – which connected the Western world with the Middle East and Asia – has influenced the English gardens of today. It features ten steel sepals with a glass and aluminium façade that takes four minutes to open, creating a huge 141 m² space in the shape of a crown.
